Battery Muster Roll

An overwhelming force of the Enemy having been massed in our front during the night and a part of the Division on our right being surprised fell back in confusion, exposing Gen. Davis’ right to so furious an assault from a superior force, and so forced him to retreat, contesting the ground stubbornly. My battery coming into hostilities and engaging the enemy at every favorable opportunity until we reached our reserves. The casualties in my command were this day killed: 2. Wounded: 5. Missing: 2. Total: 9.
