Celebrating the 4th of July has included cannon firings since 1776 and still continues today. The Second Minnesota Battery joined six guns from several other units, coordinated by Battery I, U.S. Artillery, in Menominee, Wisconsin, in 2022 for a patriotic concert. This concert, held on the Tuesday evening closest to the 4th of July, features the 1812 Overture, a musical piece written to include cannons. The seven guns performed with the orchestra as well as opening and closing the concert. This video clip is of the finally volley of the evening, a Battery fire of all seven guns sounding off in unison.
